The Millage Rate for Mount Dora is currently 5.9603 with an add on fire assessment that pushes it effectively over 6.0. Presently, the City has proposed a 6.3 millage rate with a maximum of 6.6. While previously serving on City Council I led the effort to reduce the millage rate from 6.105 to 5.019 in only two budget cycles. I will push for a similar reduction as Mayor as I did as a Council Member.

 

My opponent voted to raise the millage rate when she was elected Mayor the first time from 5.6667 to 5.9970. Then in her first year as a Council Member she approved an increase from 5.997 to 6.300. The only time she voted to decrease the millage rate happened in her second term as Mayor in 2020 during Covid.
