COMPARISON OF CANDIDATES

Stopping Overdevelopment

  • James Homich moved to deny the AMCO high-rise development at the Planning and Zoning meeting December 22, 2022.

  • My Opponent moved to approve AMCO at the same meeting saying "It's the future the way I see it . . ."

Building Height Amendment

  • James Homich authored the first draft of the Building Height Amendment to protect our historic downtown from overdevelopment.

  • My opponent was the Treasurer for the "Vote No" effort.

Lowering Taxes

  • James Homich as Vice Mayor led the effort to lower the millage rate from 6.105 to 5.019.

  • My opponent voted to raise the millage rate from 5.6667 to 5.9970 in her first year as Mayor and from 5.9970 to 6.300 in her first year as a City Council member.

Parking Solutions

  • James Homich expanded our Parking Inventory while in office with the acquisition of the Church Parking Lots.

  • My opponent reduced our Parking Inventory with the Downtown Streetscape in her first term as Mayor and failed to acquire the Post Office property for additional parking in her second stint as Mayor.

Representing Residents

  • James Homich won all three of his reelection campaigns as a City Council Member.

  • My opponent lost both of her reelection campaigns as Mayor likely due to her failure to adequately represent a majority of residents.
